Westwind at Supertop
U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Westwind at Supertop, Greenland, 1981. I was a crewmember on this Coast Guard icebreaker for a visit to Greenland to clear the harbor at Thule for the summer re-supply cargo traffic. We made a stop on the southwest tip of Greenland in a harbor favored by fishermen as a shelter from North Atlantic storms. This is one of those paintings that almost created itself.
