These galleries reflects an ongoing exploration rather than a final statement. The works here are invitations to pause, reflect, and find resonance in familiar landscapes and quiet moments, rendered through multiple media but guided by a single intention: attentive seeing.
Watercolors
I have worked primarily in watercolor since high school, it's my preferred method for plein air. I've also tested charcoal, pencil, oils, and acrylics.
Acrylic
Works in landscape in acrylics, focusing on light and shadow.
Seascapes and Landscapes
Having spent much of my life on the west coast and most recently the Pacific Northwest, I have the unique opportunity to encounter beautiful moments. I do a fair bit of travel and paint plein air as well as from photographs during my travels.
Drawings
The common denominator comes down to making an image worth a thousand words. Sometimes its just quicker to draw it than trying to describe it.
Botanical and Floral
I'm a sucker for a bright group of flowers against a shadowed wall, a spray of autumn leaves in afternoon light, or a vista of the town in morning fog.
Cityscapes
I love painting plein air on my travels. This gallery contains a variety of work stemming from vacations and work related travel.
Work Abroad
This gallery contains both plein air and finished work from photographs during my travels while vacationing and working outside the US. This gallery includes some of my earliest work from 1962.
Animals and People
Animals and people have something in common that is irresistible to an artist. It's the moment while they are just being. The light, the color, the moment, it all captures me while I capture it.
Clearance
Clearance priced, all prices are for works unframed. Contact me for a framing price.
